It has been rightly said by his excellency, Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam, President of our glorious India that Technical Institutes plays a vital role in moulding the character and shaping the personality of the youth and exactly the same has been done by Mehr Chand Polytechnic College ,Jalandhar. Electronics and Communication Engg . Diploma was started in the year 1982 and now this department is approaching sky-scrapping heights of glory and success and it has made remarkable progress. This department stands as an epitome of excellence with the glorious tradition of achievements in almost all spheres. This department won the best polytechnic award amongst the 12 Polytechnics participated throughout the country under the “PROJECT IMPACT” from the Deptt. Of Electronics, Govt. of India, sponsored by Swiss Govt.

E.C.E Department offers premier professional training with an eye on the modern developments in technology, since its inception, graduating students have been well placed in either deemed academic institutions or top industrial establishments in Punjab.

FACILITIES

Electronics & Communication Engineering Department of Mehr Chand polytechnic is well known for rigorous exposure to hands on practice to reinforce the spirit of excellence among the students and to make them successful technocrats. There are three computer labs in the department. The labs are well furnished, equipped and air-conditioned. There are about 50 number of computers all with i3 Processor. All the labs are on LAN with 24 hr 50 Mbps Leased Line (Broadband 1:1) Internet facility.
