Value Education

The Institute of Engineers (India) was established in the year 1920 and incorporated by Royal Charter in the year 1935. It is one of the largest multi-disciplinary bodies of engineers in the world with over 4 Lac student members on its roll. It is an autonomous body with a network of 21 state centres at State Capitals, 73 local centers at places of industrial and academic importance and six overseas chapters. It has its head office in Kolkata

.Chapters basically focus on:
1. Continuing Education Programme.
2. Water management & maintaining safety
3. Quality control in engineering education
4. R&D
5. Promoting development in rural India

Student’s Chapter in this polytechnic was started in the year 1978 and since then it is marching ahead to touch new heights. It is headed by Dr. Rajeev Bhatia, HOD Civil. 

Achievements of College ‘Student’s Chapter’: Jalandhar.

  1. In ISTE Students Convention held at GNA University, Phagwara. The students brought laurels and glory to the institute by bagging 2nd position in project display (ECE), 2nd position in CAD competition (Mech.) and 3rd position in Tech. presentation (CSE). ISTE Best students Award-2023 was jointly bagged by Bharat Babbar and Vanshika of Pharmacy Deptt. on 27th Oct,2023.
  2. Students of Mehr Chand Polytechnic College won 6 Gold, 4 Silver and 1 Bronze medal in Project display/Paper Presentation competitions along with a cash award of Rs. 37,500/- and overall trophy in PTIS Tech. Fest held at GPC, Patiala on 5th May,2023.
  3. Students of Automobile Engg. brought laurels by bagging 2nd prize along with a cash award of Rs. 5000/- in State level competition, INNO-Tech 2023 held at Pushpa Gujral Science City, Kapurthala on 18th March,2023.
  4. In district level competition CT COLORS-23, held at CT Institutions Jalandhar on 07/03/2023, the students of Computer Science & Engg. won 5 prizes , Electronics Engg. won 2 prizes and Applied Sciences Deptt. won 2 prizes in various technical and Non-Technical events.
  5. Students of Mehr Chand Polytechnic College participated in various technical and non-technical events and brought laurels to the institute by bagging “Overall Winning” Trophy along with a cash award of Rs. 11,000/- at technical Festival “Kshitiz” – 2020 at GNA University.
  6. Mehr Chand Polytechnic College won “Overall Trophy” in last held PTIS Inter Polytechnic State Level Tech Fest 2019 with 11 Prizes in Project display and Paper presentation activities. This was 9th time that college won this prestigious Trophy. More than 80 polytechnics from the State of Punjab participated in this event on 6th April, 2019.
  7. Students of various disciplines participated in National Level Technical Festival I In no-Tech-2019 held at Science City, Jalandhar and brought laurels to the institute by bagging 3 awards along with a cash award of Rs. 30,000/- on 18-19th March, 2019.
