The Red Ribbon Club in Mehr Chand Polytechnic College was formed in February, 2009. The main objective of this club is to create awareness among Students about AIDS by providing knowledge about its prevention, mode of transmission. It also provides knowledge about harmful effects of drug addiction and measures to be taken to avoid drug addiction amongst students.
The club also organises painting competitions, quiz contests, expert health talks and group discussions among the students of this club. The Club works in collaboration with Red Ribbon Society of PUSHPA GUJRAL SCIENCE CITY KAPURTHALA. The club is headed by Sh. Sundip Kumar, Lecturer Pharmacy. The main event conducted by RRC is AIDS Awareness Rally and AIDS Awareness Seminar celebrated every year on first December.
