Mehr Chand is role model Polytechnic – Director B. Purushartha

Mehr Chand  Polytechnic  College  , Jalandhar   under the aegis  of Department  of Technical  Education  Punjab , organized  an International  Conference  on 18^th Feb. 2015  at hotel Mountview  in Chandigarh in which  visiting dignitaries  from Hackney  Community College , London (UK) including   Principal Ian Ashman,  Associate  Director  Ms. Tayebeh kazempour and Teacher Training  Co-ordinator  Mr. Liam Brownee participated .   Director , Technical Education , Punjab  Sh. B. Purushartha  presided over the  Conference  organized  to share the best  practices  of  Hackney Community College  London  &  Mehr Chand Polytechnic College Jalandhar  to the other leading Technical Institutions  of Punjab  in order to  encourage   skill development  in Punjab .  Principal  Ian Ashman presented through  slides  about the  Best practices  of Hackney Community College  London . Ms Tayabeh gave the  details  of 2 day staff training  workshop , she conducted  at Mehr Chand Polytechnic .  Principal   Jagroop Singh highlighted  the lessons learnt  and other  innovative  changes  brought  about  in Mehr Chand Polytechnic  as a result  of this partnership  program sponsored  by UKIERI .   Director  B. Purushartha  in his presidential speech  referred Mehr Chand Polytechnic  as a role  model  to be  emulated  by other Polytechnic  of Punjab . He said  such international  partnership  are necessary  for skill  development  in Punjab.  Justice N.K. Sud , Vice President  DAV CMC , New Delhi , Sh. Buta Singh , Dean Academic  PTU , Sh. Mohanbir Singh , Additional Director  , Technical Education  , Sh. C.L.Kochher , Prof. Y.K. Anand  and about 20 Principal of various  Polytechnics and other  College  participated  in this Conference .  Justice  N.K Sud   presented  vote  of thanks  on behalf  of DAV  Management   and Staff  & students  of  Mehr Chand  Polytechnic .
